The nHealth Plan

In previous years the solution to managing health care costs has come in the form of increased co-pays and raising consumer contributions. Yet, these measures have failed to work. We’re offering a fresh look at health insurance, a consumer-driven health plan.

nHealth is a consumer-driven health plan (CDHP), meaning it is a health insurance plan that allows members to use personal, tax-exempt health savings accounts (HSA) to pay routine healthcare expenses directly, while a high deductible health insurance policy protects them from catastrophic medical expenses.

How does it work?

The high deductible insurance policy has a substantially lower monthly cost. Employers and employees can take advantage of the money they are saving from lower premiums to fund a tax-exempt, employee-owned health savings account.

Routine and expected medical costs are paid from the health savings account until the deductible is reached. This includes: medical, dental, vision, prescription and over-the-counter drugs, all tax free. Since you are in the nHealth network, you will receive network discounts at doctors, labs and hospitals.

Like a traditional plan, once the deductible is reached, the plan pays for a percentage of covered services until the out-of-pocket maximum is reached. At that point, every expense is covered by nHealth.

At the end of the year, any unused balance in the HSA will be rolled-over for the next year’s expenses. Also, you own your HSA and as it grows, the funds can be placed in a portfolio of mutual fund options. HSAs are also portable and can go with you from job to job and into retirement.
